Garbha sanskar – Garbh Sanskar is an Ayurvedic practice focused on the comprehensive development of the baby during pregnancy. The term “Garbh Sanskar” made from Sanskrit word ‘Garbh’ means womb and ‘Sanskar’ means education or values. It refers to prenatal practices aimed at imparting good qualities, positive habits, and a balanced state of mind to the unborn child. According to Ayurveda, a child’s physical, mental, and emotional development begins even before birth, influenced by the mother’s thoughts, emotions, diet, and lifestyle.”-
Garbhasanskar is not only sessions which done during the pregnancy but its journey starts from the planning of concivinig to post natal-care.
Phases of Garbh Sanskar
- Pre-Conception (Beej Sanskar)
- Preparing the body and mind for conception.
- Following Ayurvedic cleansing (Panchakarma) to remove toxins.
- Consuming a nutritious diet to strengthen reproductive health.
- Practicing yoga, meditation, and positive thinking to ensure a healthy pregnancy.
2. Conception (Garbha Dhan Sanskar)
- Choosing an auspicious time for conception as per Ayurveda.
- Maintaining a positive and stress-free environment.
- Reciting mantras and prayers for the spiritual well-being of the baby.
3. Pregnancy (Garbhadhan Sanskar)
- Divided into three trimesters, each focusing on specific care:
a. First Trimester:
- Ensuring emotional stability and happiness.
- Consuming nourishing foods like milk, ghee, fruits, and herbs.
- Listening to calming music and chanting Vedic mantras.
b. Second Trimester:
- Engaging in light exercises and yoga.

c. Third Trimester:
- Preparing for childbirth with breathing exercises and prenatal yoga.

4. Birth (Jatkarma Sanskar)

5. Postnatal Care (Sutika Sanskar)
